PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A water main break shut down a heavily-traveled intersection in Northeast Philadelphia Monday morning.
The water main break happened at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Red Lion Road and Verree Road.
The water main break completely shutdown traffic at the intersection. Drivers were urged to avoid the area.
Officials said the 12-inch water main break left 15 properties, 10 stores and a fire hydrant without water.
Crews with the Philadelphia Water Department were dispatched to the scene to contain the water main break.
Red Lion Road remains closed from Ferndale Street to Verree Road.
