UPDATE: All Rt. 70 Eastbound Lanes Reopen After Water Main Break In Cherry Hill
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- A broken water main created a traffic headache on one of South Jersey's busiest roads Wednesday.
The incident happened before 5 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Route 70 in Cherry Hill before Sayer Avenue.
Crews spent several hours during the morning working on the broken water main.
As a result, traffic in the eastbound lanes was reduced to one lane. Traffic in the westbound lanes was not impacted.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Cherry Hill Police said the repairs on Route 70 were complete and all eastbound lanes are now open.
Water company officials believe the cold weather play a role in the water main break. Customers in the area experienced some reduced water pressure.
