Want To Start A Food Truck? Report Says Philadelphia Is A Pretty Good Place To Do It
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia's made yet another list.
This time, the City of Brotherly Love has been ranked one of the 20 best cities in the country to open a food truck.
While San Antonio, Texas came in first, Philadelphia ranked a relatively respectable 17th. Many of the cities in the top ten are located in the South, including Tampa, Raleigh and Charleston.
The rankings were compiled by website Mobile Cuisine using a "number formula" devised using factors such as city population, age demographics, weather, current size of the food truck industry and the city laws surrounding it.
While Mobile Cuisine has yet to publish detailed write ups on why each city was specifically selected, the site urges readers to keep an eye out for a future article.
In the past year alone, a number of food trucks have been added to the city's fleet, including bagel-and-philanthropy truck Schmear It and the mac 'n cheese-centric Mac Mart.
