Cynthia Day, with Walk Now for Autism Speaks, says fun events like this make it possible for families to get the help they need:
"The money goes heavily toward autism, also for awareness for treatments for legislation. It goes to many ways to help our families succeed and go forward and we're also spending a lot of time on adults with autism."
With the help of this event, the group hopes to raise more than $8,000 by the end of the year.
One in 88 children have autism.
