Volunteers Wanted For Gardening At Ambler Arboretum

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - What are you doing most Tuesday mornings? If you're over 18, you could be helping out at the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University.

On Tuesdays from 9:00 to Noon, gardeners at every level of experience - including none - are welcome to come learn about Ambler Arboretum's collection, as you join with other volunteers to help take care of the plants.

Each week will focus on a different project - from dividing and moving perennials to mulching and edging beds, to pruning shrubs, weeding, and planting - and don't worry, there are tasks to suit everyone's skills. Tools and refreshments are provided, and there are some gardening gloves to borrow if you don't have your own.

So whether you're new to gardening, new to the area and would like to meet fellow gardeners, or maybe you used to have a garden and now you don't, here's your chance to get your hands into the soil and chat with people who like plants while tending the gardens at the Ambler Arboretum.

To sign up, contact Horticulture Supervisor Anne.Brennan@Temple.edu.
