Virgin America To Offer Flights To And From Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia International Airport is getting a new carrier: Virgin America, the subsidiary of Virgin Atlantic best known for high-end customer amenities.
Virgin America already flies in and out of New York and Washington, but the growing airline has decided to add Philadelphia as a destination. "It is kind of a chic, cutting-edge type airline," says PHL chief executive officer director Mark Gale.
Virgin America starts daily cross-continental flights in and out of Philadelphia in April, with three flights daily to and from Los Angeles, and two flights to and from San Francisco.
Gale says Virgin America has won numerous awards for customer service, "each seat has its own entertainment center. You can bring up individual movies, songs. You can order food and drinks directly from your seats to be brought to you."
Virgin will operate out of Terminal E and is the 29th airline to fly in and out of Philadelphia. The airline says it will launch its service with introductory discounted fares.
