VIDEO: Robbery Victim Fights Back Against Armed Suspect In South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for an armed gunman who was caught on tape putting a gun to a robbery victim's head.
The incident began at about 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 2200 block of South Rosewood Street in South Philadelphia.
According to investigators, the 21-year-old victim was walking down South Rosewood Street when he was approached by an unknown male standing on the corner, who asked if he had a lighter.
During the brief interaction, police say the suspect pulled out a handgun and stole the victim's cell phone. The suspect then forced the victim to withdraw money from an ATM at Broad and Jackson Streets.
The suspect then led the victim to a nearby 7-Eleven to withdraw even more money.
While inside the 7-Eleven, the victim turned the tables on the suspect. While the suspect had his back turned, the victim grabbed him from behind around the neck with both hands.

The suspect then pulled out his handgun and held it against the victim's head. The suspect did not pull the trigger and eventually ran out of the store.
In addition to the victim's cell phone, the suspect also made off with $30 in cash.
The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25-years-old, 5'8", 140 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair, a mustache and beard with a medium complexion and thin build. He was wearing a gray-striped hooded shirt and blue jeans.
