VIDEO: Ball Sits On Rim As High School Hoops Game Ends
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – We've seen all sorts of crazy endings to basketball games. Half court shots, full court shots, backwards-falling-out-of-bounds shots. But you've likely never seen anything like this before.
The ball is turned over by Chicago's Prosser High School with seconds remaining, and the Grandview Greyhounds went in for a game winning layup. The problem was, the ball was laid up, and stayed up... on the rim.
Time expired with the ball still on the rim, and the referees ruled the game ended in a tie, and went to overtime.
Grandview, 10-0 on the season, won 72-70 in overtime.
