Vick Continues To Make Progress As Eagles Gear Up For Rematch Against Giants

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As the Eagles continue to play the waiting game with their quarterbacks, the team is gearing up for a rematch against their division rivals.
The Eagles and Giants will meet for the second time this month on Sunday, and both teams are in dire need of a victory. The Eagles fell to second place in the NFC East last Sunday with a loss to Dallas. The Giants picked up their first victory Monday night, but are still 1-6 on the season. Running Back LeSean McCoy says this is a critical contest at the halfway point of the season.
"We need a win," said McCoy. "We're coming off a bad week last week. We didn't play too well at all. We need to get back on the winning side of things. It makes this game so important."
There is still no official word as to who the starting quarterback will be for the Eagles. Michael Vick continues to make progress as he recovers from a hamstring injury, but Chip Kelly will continue with the cautious approach.
"We're going to wait to see how he progresses and how he goes," Kelly said. "A lot of that comes from the feedback from Mike in terms of where he is. I know he's progressed, but I'm not going to put a number on it."
The Eagles will be looking to get back on the winning track on their home field. They have lost nine straight home games dating back to last season, and Offensive Lineman Todd Herremans says it's time to give the fans something to cheer about.
"The fans have come out every week we've been home," said Herremans. "They've given us the support that we need. We've just got to give them a win. It's been too long and I think it's unacceptable."
The Eagles and Giants may not have the same record as they have in the past when the two teams were battling for first place, but Linebacker Trent Cole says the records don't matter when two of football's greatest rivals take the field.
"They know us and we know them," Cole said. "It's pretty much equal now. It's a clean slate and we're going in here and it's an even line."
Quarterback Nick Foles was once again held out of practice as he continues to recover from a concussion.
