Police Investigate Vicious Attack On Levittown Teen

LEVITTOWN, Pa., (CBS) – A teen left battered and bruised, assaulted by a group of attackers in Bucks County.
Police say it happened on Northpark Drive and Northcourt Lane in Levittown.
Officers are now searching for suspects.
The 17-year-old victim was walking home when he came across a group of teenage boys hanging out in front of Penn Valley Elementary School.
Just a couple blocks away, police say the victim was sucker punched, fell to the ground and then viciously attacked.
Bruises are left behind following a brutal beating, the worst around his eyes and mouth.
But Jarrett Nicol didn't want to shows his face or speak on camera.
"For fear of retribution, that they are going to come back and retaliate," his mother Tina Grady said.
Grady is now asking for help in finding her son's assailants.
"He's got two busted eyes, banged up ribs, bruised. They got him good," she said.
Police say the beating happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the police report, Nicol was walking home after hanging out with friends at Penn Valley Elementary School. That's when the teen says he saw another group of teens and was jumped by six to eight of them.
"As he walked past them, at some point they ran up behind him without him knowing it, and just out of the blue he got struck," Lt. Henry Ward of Falls Township Police Department said.
And once on the ground, kicked and beaten.
Nicol told police he didn't recognize anyone and couldn't remember what happened because he was knocked out.
"We don't know if this is a random act or one in the group knew him and had a grudge against him, we're not sure yet. He couldn't see everyone," Lt. Ward said. "But still, it doesn't excuse this kind of assault."
Police are now reviewing school surveillance as well as surveillance footage from the Mill Creek Road 7-11 where a group of teens was spotted about 15 minutes before the attack.
"It's just a matter of time before we get one, and once we get one, we're going to get them all. So, whoever is involved in this it's in you best interest to come in," Lt. Ward said.
A warning from police and this message from a mother.
"To the cowards, they need to come forward," Grady said. "Take responsibility for their actions because if it was one of my children, I would turn them in."
Police say the teens involved in this beating could face felony aggravated assault charges. The victim had to be taken to the hospital.
And they say anyone who was there and saw this and doesn't come forward, well, they could face conspiracy charges.
