Verizon To Distribute White Pages By Request Only In Pa.
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's a sign of the times: Verizon has gotten the okay to stop distributing the White Pages in Pennsylvania.
When's the last time you used the white pages?
"The white pages? Umm...."
That's what we thought. Knowing that, Verizon has asked for - and now received approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to provide the white pages only for those who ask for them, says PUC spokeswoman Jennifer Kocher:
"The commission said that it is okay for Verizon to no longer offer paper copies of the residential white pages -- unless someone requests a copy."
The change takes effect January 1. Verizon will still make the listings available on its website and on CD.
