"Vampire Diaries" Welcomes Two More To Mystic Falls
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Mystic Falls will welcome two new characters this season.
Grace Phipps and Phoebe Tonkin are set to join the cast of Vampire Diaries for its fourth season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Phipps, who most recently played Amy on Nine Lives of Chloe King, has landed the recurring role of 16-year-old April.
Described as "a natural beauty with a bit of an edge," April has just returned from private school after the death of her father and has some history with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Elena (Nina Dobrev).
Her relationship with Elena is a good one though as it looks like Elena may play the role of protector as she hopes to shield April from the many secrets of the town.
Phipps, who once expressed her love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has had some vampire experience, playing the role of Bee in the remake of Fright Night.
Tonkin, who played Faye on the CW witch drama The Secret Circle, will be playing the part of Hayley.
According to TV Guide, Hayley is described as a wild, sexy and free-spirited girl who has had a past with Tyler (Michael Trevino).
With Hayley's entry into Mystic Falls, viewers can expect to see rifts between Tyler and his main love interest Caroline (Candice Accola) especially after Klaus assumed Tyler's body in the season three finale.
Tonkin is expected to make her Vampire Diaries debut in the third episode of season four.
Vampire Diaries is set to return for its fourth season on October 11 at 8/9c only on The CW.
