U.S. Postal Service Delaying Delivery Times For Packages In Effort To Lower Costs
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Some packages may now take one or two extra days to get to their destination. In an effort to lower costs, the U.S. Postal Service is slowing delivery times for nearly a third of all First-Class packages.
It's also reducing its reliance on air transportation.
Instead, the postal service is using more trains and trucks.
The new policy goes into effect May 1.
