Upper Darby Woman Surrenders In Yeadon Convenience Store Hit-Run
UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) - An Upper Darby woman charged with crashing her car into a Yeadon, Pa. convenience store two weeks ago, injuring a clerk, surrendered to authorities this afternoon.
Willaisha Rankins, 32, had been sought ever since the June 9th accident that sent a 7-Eleven employee to the hospital with what turned out to be minor injuries.
But since she fled the scene, according to authorities, police had to turn to surveillance tape and the news media, looking for the passenger who was seen walking away after the accident (see related story).

That passenger turned up and led detectives to Rankins, who is now facing seven criminal charges related to the accident and is free on $40,000 unsecured bail.
She is due to appear for a preliminary hearing next week.
