UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS)—An Upper Darby man with a history of child pornography crimes has been arrested In Delaware County for breaking the terms of his probation. Now, he's back in prison.
Police have arrested 75-year-old David Anthony Seiver, of Upper Darby, for possession of child pornography and dissemination and criminal use of a communications facility.
District Attorney Jack Whelan says the county's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was monitoring certain peer-to-peer file sharing sites when they found some startling activity.
"David Seiver, he is a 75-year-old male with a history of downloading child pornography, and was not supposed to be downloading child pornography, he was under federal supervision at the time."
On January 30, authorities served a search warrant at Seiver's residence. He told authorities that he knows child pornography is illegal, but "he couldn't help himself" and he has "already been through therapy," with his prior FBI case.
Whelan says detectives found 60 images or videos on Seiver's computer, many involving young boys engaged in sexual acts with themselves or an adult off camera and that many of the boys in those files have been identified through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
Seiver's bail has been set at $100,000.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 7.
