Union Head To Chicago Looking To Right Ship

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It's been a rough start to the 2012 campaign for the Philadelphia Union as they sit at 0-2 after losses in Portland and at home to Colorado. They will look to get rid of that zero in the points column on Saturday night when they visit the Chicago Fire.
Union midfielder Brian Carroll talks about what's gone wrong here in the early going of the 2012 campaign.
"We've put a lot of effort into the games and have played really well at times, but there have just been a few stretches here or there, whether it be a mistake or the other team's strength of play , we just weren't able to overcome that, either in our first game at Portland or at home against Colorado. Now it's about fine-tuning those things and being better throughout the course of the entire game, eliminating mistakes as much as possible and sticking to the gameplan as much as possible."
Carroll says it is important that no one panic just because they've gotten off to a shaky start.
"One thing you want to keep in the front of your mind is you never want to get too high when you win and things are going great or too down when you lose and things aren't going your way. Now it's about just working hard, day-in and day-out, righting the ship and getting our first result this weekend against Chicago."

As for the Fire, they opened the season playing Montreal to 1-1 draw. The Fire just missed the playoffs last season and Carroll says that has made them hungry here in 2012.
"They are always tough at home. We're going to need to play our 'A' game and play as much as we can to our strengths, limiting their chances and trying to sort of weather the storm that may happen at a point or two in the game and take advantage of our chances and be opportunistic."
Philadelphia and Union set for an 8:30 first kick on Saturday night.
