Two Elderly Victims Injured In Philadelphia Road Rage Chase, Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Two men were arrested Tuesday evening after an apparent case of road rage left two elderly victims injured.
The incident started shortly before 4 p.m. at 54th and City Avenue in the city's Wynnefield section when one car struck another car from behind, and then fled the scene.
Police say the driver of the Nissan that was hit gave pursuit of the Buick. After realizing he was being chased, the 25-year-old driver of the Buick swerved into oncoming traffic, struck several other vehicles, and then crashed head on into a car along the 2200 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue.
A 90-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman inside the car were injured.
After an argument, the driver of the Buick fled on foot into a nearby grocery store, and the 29-year-old in the Nissan began chasing him with a knife. The two men were apprehended by police a short time later.
The two elderly victims were taken to Hahnemann Hospital. The man was listed in serious condition and was being treated for injuries to his ribs and chest. The woman was listed in stable condition.
Police said it was very likely that charges would be filed against the two men in custody.
