Two Dead, One Injured In Crash In New Castle County
NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS/AP) -- A man and a woman have died in a crash after an SUV went out of control and struck a tree near New Castle, Delaware.
It happened just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday near Airport Road at Commons Boulevard.
Investigators say it appears the Jeep Grand Cherokee was rounding a curve at a high speed and lost control. The vehicle ran off the road, struck a traffic pole, then flipped over and struck a tree before rolling back onto its wheels.
Delaware State Police say 31-year-old Rhashem Revelle of Wilmington and 27-year-old Tynisha Scott of Bear were killed in the crash. They had seatbelts on but suffered severe head injuries.
Police say 26-year-old Andre Revelle of Wilmington was in the back seat. He was removed from the SUV and was to Christiana Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
