TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Two men have been arrested in Chester County, Pa., accused of taking part in a crime spree that targeted homes along the Main Line.
Tredyffrin Township police credit good old-fashioned detective work during an extensive six-month investigation that led to the suspects.
Charged in connection with multiple home burglaries in Wayne, Berwyn and Malvern between November and March are 22-year-old Brendan Burke of Berwyn and 24-year-old Christopher Fazzini of Wayne.
Tredyffrin Township detective sergeant Todd Bereda says the pair was stealing from the homes of friends who lived nearby.
"The most significant items were rings, gold jewelry -- things that could be pawned and are regularly pawned at area pawn shops -- so they could get fast money," he said today.
Police believe the cash the pair obtained was being used to fuel their drug habits.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and the two men may be charged with other burglaries.
Both men, who have already waived their preliminary hearings, are free on $100-thousand unsecured bail.
