Two $1 Million Mega Millions Tickets Sold In NJ & 1 In Delaware
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBS)—Two stores in New Jersey and one store in Delaware sold $1 million Mega Millions tickets in last night's drawing.
The winning tickets matched all five numbers, but not the Mega Ball.
The lucky stores are a 7-eleven in Toms River, a store in Cranford, NJ and the Shop Rite of Four Seasons in Newark, New Castle County, Delaware.
The winning numbers were: 8, 14, 17, 20, 39; Mega Ball: 7.
The jackpot resets to $15 million for the next drawing, which is on Friday night.
The 7-Eleven in Toms River lost ten days worth of business and all of their products stocked on the shelves following Hurricane Sandy.
The store will now get $2,000 for selling the winning million dollar ticket. But the main question on everyone's mind is who is in possession of the winning ticket?
A customer Eddie Jones jokes, "Look at me! Do you think I'd be sitting here talking to you if I won the millions?!"
He adds, "I checked it and I checked it and I checked it and there's no luck."
Nelish Patel is the owner of the lucky 7-eleven store. He says, "I am so happy because one of my customers who won, that is the luckiest person."
Selling a lucky ticket is nothing new to Patel. In fact, Patel says he sold another winning ticket, a $12.5 million Pick Six ticket about ten years ago, just five miles away at a store in Pine Beach.
"People are going to know it's a lucky store," he says.
If you don't believe the hype, just ask customer Ray Hother, "I just won two dollars!"
Another winner in one of the luckiest stores in the country.
