Twitter, Comedy Central Partner For First Ever Social Media ComedyFest

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) - Comedy Central is partnering with Twitter for the first ever comedy festival played out in 140 characters and six-second videos.
"If you're good at it, it's not hard at all," says Steve Trevelise, owner of the Cherry Hill comedy club Sarcasm. "And the secret to good comedy is to be quick; is to be short and funny."
#ComedyFest is a celebration of comedy that will take place entirely on Twitter. Over five days, comedians will tweet jokes and post six second videos on the video app Vine.
"If it works it will change the way people do comedy, it will change the way people view comedy because the audiences are so small that it's very hard to get the word out. So if you start following comedy on twitter it'll expose you to more comedians," explains Trevelise.
#ComedyFest runs April 29th through May 3rd and will feature more than 50 comedians. They'll participate in live-tweeting events, panels and social media experiments.
