TSA Program Extended For Displaced NJ Sandy Victims


TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) – The Christie Administration announced that FEMA Transitional Sheltering Assistance Program has been extended to April 5th.

On Thursday, officials announced the program would be extended for an additional 14 days, with check-out moving to April 6th for eligible people.

"We thank FEMA for continuing to extend the Transitional Sheltering Assistance Program in order to give Sandy-displaced families additional time to find more permanent housing," said Governor Christie. "We will continue to request extensions until all families in the program have a safe, suitable housing solution."

Officials report that 495 New Jersey residents displaced by Sandy are being housed the TSA program.
