Trump TV Ad Featuring South Jersey Town Raises Concern
HADDON HEIGHTS, N.J. (CBS) - A television commercial for the Donald Trump campaign is causing some concern in one South Jersey community.
A Haddon Heights business is prominently displayed in the spot, another in passing.
The owners at John's Friendly Market declined to discuss with KYW Newsradio what happened, although the Trump campaign says it obtained a release to film in front of the place last July.
Local Links -- a nearby café -- did not sign a waiver. But owner Joseph Gentile wants to make one thing clear…
"I don't have the luxury of being a Trump supporter or a Hillary supporter or a Mickey Mouse supporter or a man on the moon supporter."
He does admit to getting a lot of reaction on social media:
"It's neat being in a national ad. But at the same time, I don't want anybody to believe that I have an opinion one way or another as a business.
He says though he hopes the attention helps to promote all the small businesses in Haddon Heights.
