Troy Vincent During 60 Minutes Sports Interview: Colts GM Sparked Deflategate
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- NFL football operations chief and former Eagles Pro-Bowl corner Troy Vincent has confirmed Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson set Deflategate into motion.
Vincent was asked who brought the deflated balls to the league's attention during an interview for 60 Minutes Sports with CBS News correspondent Armen Keteyian, which airs Tuesday night at 10:00pm E.T. on Showtime.
"It was the general manager of the Indianapolis Colts," Vincent told Keteyian. "We were told on the sideline that there potentially could be---a ball that was out of compliance."
"So that was the driving force to check the balls at half time?" Keteyian asked.
"Yes, sir," Vincent replied. "That started everything."
Keteyian joined Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Tuesday morning and talked about his interview with Vincent.
"I sat down with him in Phoenix for about an hour and really just kind of just went chapter and verse," Keteyian told the 94WIP Morning Show. "Everything from the Ray Rice domestic violence case and the investigation there, to Adrian Peterson, to the officiating calls that were questionable, to obviously Deflategate, and also sort of Marshawn Lynch and the modern---what he calls---21st century athlete, which is causing the NFL a lot of consternation and their sort of me-first attitude."

Cataldi asked Keteyian if NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was available for this interview.
"I didn't ask for him," Keteyian admitted. "I've seen the act at the press conference every year, it's sort of the same thing. I just don't find, particularly Roger---I don't think I'm going to get much out of him, you know? It's going to be a PR [public relations] spin. And I thought Troy was extremely honest, very humane, deeply engaged, and a fresh voice for a lot of people to hear."
