Trenton-Mercer Airport Expands Flight Service From Frontier
By John Ostapkovich
TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- Trenton-Mercer Airport will be offering flights to more destinations staring in April.
The expansion is by Frontier Airlines, the only airline at the airport, according to Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes.
Hughes says Frontier has been happy with patronage on its existing routes.
"Right now, they're going to Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Fort Myers and New Orleans, but in April they'll be expanding to Columbus, Detroit, Rlaeigh-Durham, Atlanta and Chicago-Midway."
Hughes says the expansion will mean seven daily flights, all non-stops, but Frontier won't be flying to each city every day.
He says the Trenton-Mercer Airport is gaining fans with its short lines and close-in parking, and that Frontier will be offering some steeply discounted fares for booking late January through April to promote the new routes.
