Traffic Violation Leads Police To Heroin, Firearms Hidden In Car
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police have arrested a 28-year-old Wilmington man on gun and heroin charges.
On Sunday, Delaware troopers stopped a Dodge pickup truck with dark tinted windows traveling southbound on North Monroe Street for vehicle equipment violation.
Upon doing a computer check, officers discovered that the drive, Julius A. Wilson, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. During a search of the vehicle, officers also discovered 260 individual bags of heroin packaged for sale, a Lugar 9mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with five rounds of ammunition and a Glock 45mm semi-automatic handgun that was reported stolen in Wilmington in February 2011. The second gun also had an extended magazine containing 24 rounds of ammunition.
Wilson was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and related charges.
