Traffic Stop In Wilmington Leads To Arrest Of Philadelphia Couple
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS)— A traffic stop in Wilmington resulted in the arrest of a Philadelphia couple and the seizure of drugs, a gun and cash.
On October 1st at approximately 9 p.m. a Trooper spotted a 2001 Buick LeSabre speeding on North Market Street. A check of the vehicle's license plate information revealed that the vehicle was not properly registered.
The Trooper pulled the vehicle over on East Lea Boulevard and found the driver, Hynieth Jacobs, 27, did not have a valid driver's license.
His passenger, Imani Naim, 18, also did not have a license. The Trooper also discovered a one-month-old baby that was lying on top, but not restrained in, a child carrier in the back seat.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a fully loaded .40 caliber handgun, a backpack containing 386 bags of heroin and heroin distribution and packaging supplies.
Jacobs was found to be in possession of over $1,000 which was seized.
Jacobs and Naim were charged with numerous drug and gun offenses. Jacobs was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on $199,200 secured bail, and Naim was committed to Baylor Women's Correctional Institute on $199,200 secured bail.
