Toys R Us To Debut New Touchscreen Computer For Kids
By Technology Editor Ian Bush
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Kids who are used to tablet computers expect any screen to be able to respond to their touch. Now, they can have one to call their own.
The Tabeo is an Android-powered device with a seven-inch (diagonal) screen and a bumper to cushion it in a fall.
It'll be sold only at Toys R Us, starting next month.
The tablet offers WiFi and comes preloaded with several dozen games, books, and educational apps, and it lets parents set up controls to block unsuitable sites.
Other tablets designed for kids, including Kurio and Meep, share the Tabeo's $150 price, but this one looks a bit more like mom and dad's device.
