Tow Truck Driver Indicted For Death Of NJ Woman He Was Driving Home
FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey prosecutors say a tow truck driver from New York has been indicted in the death of a woman who he was driving home.
Dexter Jeanty of Brooklyn is accused of leaving the scene of a fatal accident in the indictment handed up Monday by a Monmouth County grand jury.
Prosecutors say Jeanty was driving 26-year-old Mary Macaluso to her Keansburg home when she was "separated" from the truck's cab. Her body was later found on the side of Route 18 in Ocean Township.
Macaluso had been with a date when their vehicle broke down. Jeanty towed the vehicle to the date's home and Macaluso asked him to take her home to Keansburg
Jeanty remains free on $150,000 bail. A phone number for him could not be located Monday.
