Fairmount Anti-Valentine's Day Bar Crawl

Valentine-less? Grab your friends, don your lei and embark on this anti V-Day bar crawl through the city's Fairmount neighborhood. A $5 registration fee gets you in, then drink specials follow at eight bars including Brigid's, The Belgian Cafe, St. Stephen's Green and London Grill. By the end of it all, you won't even remember it's Valentine's Day...

Heart Throb

Feb. 14, 6:30 p.m.

If you'd rather drink a craft brew than sip a glass of red wine, head to Kraftwork for a beer tasting to benefit The Children's Heart Foundation. The bar is teaming up with Barry's Homebrew Outlet and the Philadelphia Home Brew Club to bring tasters six unique homebrews – with cutesy monikers like "Moasi-coe Kissing Cousins" and "Red Rose Saison" – and the event also includes music and food specially prepared by Chef Brian Lofink.

Valentine's Aphrodisiac Food Tour

Learn the dirty little secrets (sort of) about aphrodisiacs of the past and present at this annual tasting event. The three-course meal includes chocolates and a glass of wine, plus games and naughty trivia. And if one glass of wine isn't enough to get you in the mood, you're welcome to BYOB, but FYI, the limit is one per couple.

The First Annual Valentine's Day Special

Whether you're unattached or attached at the hip, Philebrity and Bitby's debut "Valentine's Day Special" love-themed variety show and dance party will keep you entertained throughout this oft-loathed holiday. In addition to a DJ spinning romantic tunes and a number of sweet performers on stage, Philebrity is passing this event off as an excuse to time-travel back to your adolescence for some good ol' "middle school-style slow dancing." Yes!

Moonshine and Valentines

Feb. 14, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
$30 for members, $35 for non-members

Grab your sweetheart (or just the broad of the day) and head to the NCC for a Prohibition-style Valentine's Day soiree. The center's Grand Lobby will be decked out in its speakeasy best (dim lighting, fringe, red satin), and guests can nosh on hors d'oeuvres, sip cocktails and enjoy after-hours access to the exhibits-- including, of course, "American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition." And to have you feeling just like the saucy minx or dapper gent you've always fancied yourself, revelers are encouraged to don their Roaring Twenties best, and whiskey-laden cocktails will be covertly served in coffee mugs. Finally, show your moves with a Charleston or Tango to the sweet sounds of the Boilermaker Jazz Band, who will perform classic tunes of the time period.

Valentine to the Market Black Tie Party & Fundraiser

$125 in advance, $150 after Valentine's Day

Show your love for Philly's most awesome food attraction, the Reading Terminal Market, at this annual gala and fundraiser. Proceeds from the event go to the Reading Terminal Market Preservation Trust and are used to preserve the Market and support nutrition education programming for the city's youth. And if the idea of helping Reading Term stay up and running and educate America's youth isn't enough to get you excited about this, consider the array of amazing edibles at your – literal – disposal. Yum, yum and yum!
