The PECO Multicultural series runs part of the summer over at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing. It will feature several different countries where guests can enjoy authentic food, music and learn about the host country's culture. Late in September Mexican and Brazilian Days are still available if you missed the rest of the series. Sept. 18, 2016 2-7 p.m. will be Mexican Culture. You can come out and enjoy Mexican bands, eat and shop as there will be Art and Fashion also available. You can learn some new dance moves and experience music such as the samba, Reggae, and pagoda on Sept. 25, 2016 1-7 p.m. for Brazilian day. The PECO event is family friendly and will include face-painters and crafts along with the concert.

This outdoor summer-only-oasis closes on Sept. 25. Spruce Street park is free to visit and enjoy. Some of the elements that are part of this "pop up park" are relaxing hammocks, ping pong, shuffle board and a floating restaurant. Spruce Street Park is illuminated at night with colorful LED lights in the many trees to add ambiance. There is also a beer garden and punk rock flea market on Sundays all summer, which includes handmade items from local vendors.

If you love to get out and bike or rollerblade a popular safe place to do so in the city is the River Drive Recreation Path. The city closes this path on Martin Luther King Drive (formerly West River drive) from April through October on the weekends. Citizens can get out and enjoy eight miles of the best parts of the park in the nicest weather. Besides rollerblading, biking many people enjoy walking their dogs along this scenic route.

Water Parks are big fun for the kids and the kid in everyone, and the waterparks at Morey's Piers in Wildwood are some of the best in the Philadelphia area. The Jersey Shore is just an hour or two from Philly and the beach is a welcome refuge from the heat and noise of the city. Wildwood offers a large free beach, shopping, food, and games and rides. The Water Park here is open through Sept. 11 but Morey's piers will remain open on the weekends through October.

The North Shore Beach Club is only open from May through September. This is the city's only rooftop pool and bar. North Shore is for 21 and over and is open all week 10-8. The Club runs a fun late night on Thursday's until 2 a.m. for those who want to enjoy the pool late. This beach club is clean, and provides music, fun cocktails and decent food. If you want to party show up after 3 p.m., if you want to relax get here early.
