Open year round, Blue Diamond does not rent equipment, so bring your own vehicle. Helmet, goggles, long pants and long sleeves, gloves and riding boots are required to ride. Just 53 miles from Philadelphia, Ready to Ride is a wooded, 35-acre riding area in Egg Harbor Township, NJ between the Black Horse Pike and Delilah Road. The dirt bike, ATV and go-cart play area is family oriented and operated by the Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League. Open daily, the schedule and hours are subject to change. In addition to over eight miles of trails, the facility operates a track for beginners, a motocross track and a go-kart track. No equipment is available for rent, so riders need to have access to or bring their own vehicles. You must be a member to ride, and everyone is required to attend a facility safety orientation. Membership is open to anyone, in or out of state, six years old and up. Riders younger than 15 need to be with an adult, and riders younger than 11 need to be with a parent at all times. The facility promotes safe riding and fun with family and friends and offers a variety of safety and training courses.

For 4x4 enthusiasts, Rausch Creek has a separate off-road park dedicated to providing a legal environment for 4x4 vehicles only to enjoy off-road fun. Because camping and off-road fun go hand-in-hand, Rausch Creek offers family friendly campgrounds. Easy, intermediate and hard trails include rocks, bowls, hills and the glacial "Rock Creek." Open year-round, this group-oriented facility is membership based.

Snake Creek MX is located in Harrington, DE -- just 92 miles from Philly. It's closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but the facility is open the rest of the week for bikes only. The track which opened in 1994, was recently updated with many improvements. Pricing is $25 for bikes with a $45 yearly membership, and $40 for a day membership and ride. There is never a charge for spectators, and a snack bar is open on weekends. This spot is great for a family outing or birthday party, any season of the year.

Philadelphia-area residents only need to travel 95 miles to find The Lost Trails ATV Adventures park in Dunmore, PA. Bring your own ATV or sign up for a two-hour guided ride on one of the park's Wildcat ATVs through the beautiful Pocono Mountains. Tours take you over trails with challenging obstacles, including boulder crawls, scenic ridges, rock beds and mud runs. Anyone who can operate a normal car can drive a Wildcat, the park's website claims, and recommends it as a great "Girls Night Out" alternative. You must be at least 17 years old and have a valid driver's license to drive, and children need to be at least five years old to ride.The park is open year-round.
