Top Spots For Bottomless Mimosas In Philadelphia

After a tough week at work and an action-packed weekend, sometimes all you want is to sit back and consume some carbs while a smiling server repeatedly refills your drink.  Many people say brunch is their favorite meal, and considering it combines the best of breakfast and lunch--topped off with some coffee and a delicious libation--that seems rightfully so. Check out these Philly restaurants and have a mimosa or two. Or three. Or more--they're bottomless, so who's counting?

Price: $20
Brunch Hours: Sat to Sun - 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In the heart of the Art Museum area, there is an unassuming neighborhood bar that has great food and a killer brunch. McCrossen's Tavern has been luring them in far and wide with its brunch special. Just $20 gets you one brunch item (try the Brandied Mushroom and Brie Omelet or French toast Bananas Foster) plus sides and unlimited mimosa refills or bloody marys.  If that's not reason enough of a reason to get out of bed on a weekend morning, we don't know what is.

Farmicia
15 S 3rd St.
Philadelphia, PA 19176
(215) 627-6274
www.farmiciarestaurant.com
Price: All alcoholic beverages - half price
Brunch Hours: Sat to Sun - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Emblazoned across the bucolic painting on Farmicia's homepage is its mantra: "Eat, drink and live better."  With an emphasis on local, organic products put together in a sophisticated menu, Old City's Farmicia delivers, and then some.  Even true Southerners love the Amish cheddar grits and country pork sausage with scrambled eggs and toast ($10).  Although it's not a true bottomless mimosa, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during brunch, all drinks are half price, so it stands to reason you'll hit your limit before your wallet is empty. Oh, and Farmicia's mimosa, called the Farmer's Daughter, is fresh pressed orange juice and sparkly Prosecco (for $9.50).

At this lively, friendly sports bar in Northern Liberties, there is a diverse brunch, complete with bottomless mimosas or bloody marys for $20.  Kings Oak's food prices are quite reasonable, too. You can get the delectable Cannoli-Stuffed French Toast drizzled with chocolate and served with home fries and fresh fruit for a mere $12. Or, try the indulgent Surf 'n Turf Benedict, which is two eggs poached over a petite filet mignon and a jumbo lump crab cake on an English muffin, topped with Hollandaise sauce and served with home fries and fresh fruit for a mere $16.

Derek's Restaurant
4411 Main St.
Philadelphia, PA 19127
(215) 483-9400
www.dereksrestaurant.com
Price: $21.99
Brunch Hours: Sat to Sun -  11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Derek's Restaurant, which sprang from the former Sonoma on Main Street in Manayunk, is chef and owner Derek Davis' passion. In this bright modern spot, choose any second course on the brunch menu for $21.99 and get unlimited bloody marys or mimosas every Saturday and Sunday. Some of the more popular choices are the Brioche French Toast with brandy-stewed apples, served with cinnamon butter and warm vanilla custard (just perfect for a chilly wintry morning); and the crab Benedict, made with poached eggs and jumbo lump crab salad on a toasted English muffin with tomato Hollandaise. And if it's not brunch you're looking for, Derek's always has amazing food and drink specials.

The Wishing Well

(215) 238-6555
www.wishingwellphilly.com
Price: $25
Brunch Hours: Sat to Sun - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On a nice corner location in the Italian Market area, you'll find The Wishing Well, a fantastic eatery with a progressive menu masquerading as a neighborhood bar. For a measly $25, you'll get a brunch entree--like the amusingly-named Hangover Bowl (polenta, bacon, poached eggs, sharp cheddar cheese and roasted tomatoes with homefries) or the Shame Benedict (the breakfast take on the Shame Burger, a signature dish), which includes an English muffin, poached eggs, American cheese, scrapple, Hollandaise and homefries--and bottomless mimosas or bloody marys from the bloody mary bar.

Next weekend, instead of sleeping until noon and then eating Pop-Tarts, head out to one of Philly's great brunch spots, relax and enjoy the endless mimosas.
