Join Daisy' s Delights for an afternoon of doggone fun the Sunday before Halloween. The event will feature displays by local rescue groups and vendors, face painting for the kids, arts and crafts, lunch and live music. A pet photographer will even be on hand to snap fabulous shots of Fido in full costume. The petacular afternoon will wind up with a Halloween dog parade and contest with CBS 3’s Dray Clark as guest judge. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local animal rescue groups.

Bone up for a howling good time at Old City's 3rd Annual Howl-o-ween, to be held the weekend before Halloween. Bonjour Pet Supply is working in collaboration with the Scoop the Poop campaign to provide a pet parade and doggy trick-or-treating around the pet-friendly Old City shops. This year, a neighborhood meet-up is also planned, featuring an agility obstacle course, dog games and a costume contest. Proceeds will benefit Street Tails animal rescue.

Schuylkill River Park is the place to be on the Sunday before Halloween. That's when the Schuylkill River Park Alliance will host the eighth annual Paradin' on the River. People and pets look forward to this popular event all year to show support for the park alliance and the Schuylkill River Park Trail. As in past years, the event will feature a Halloween Pet Parade and People Promenade. Kids, adults and pets should dress to impress, because prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Meet up at 1 p.m. at the 25th and Locust Street entrance to the park for a howling good time.

Delaware Valley Pug Rescue is a non-profit organization that finds homes for adoptable pugs in the Southeastern Pennsylvania, Northern Maryland, Delaware and South Jersey areas. The rescue center will hold its annual Pug-O-Ween event the Sunday before Halloween with the hopes of helping needy pugs find forever homes. Pugs will parade in costumes for treats and prizes at the Lucky Dogz doggie daycare facility. You may even bring your own pug or small-breed dog dressed in Halloween garb--they might even meet a forever friend at this fun and worthy event.

A one-hour drive from Philadelphia will bring you to the beautiful Jersey Shore for Historic Smithville Paw Dazzle Pet Boutique & Treatery's 9th Annual Costume Pet Parade. Spectators may watch more than 100 furry friends parade around The Village Green dressed as devils, dragons, penguins and policemen the Saturday before Halloween. Your $5 donation will benefit Beacon Animal Rescue.
