During the Spring and Summer months, when festivals reign supreme, some of the best places to enjoy live music are outdoors. Whether it's a local band, an indie darling, or a bonafide superstar performing, being outside adds something special. Below are a few venues around Philadelphia that come alive in the warm seasons and make live music great.

In May, business at the Mann Center picks up. There are five months of concerts and orchestra performances lined up at the Mann in Fairmount Park. Folks come out and join the fun in their seats or relax on the Great Lawn during a performance. And for the orchestra, visitors are allowed to bring personal chairs and even have the option to picnic at the venue to help them enjoy the show. If it happens to rain during the event, the main stage has a covering to keep you out of the weather elements. The current concert schedule runs through August but some September dates are expected to be added to the list.
