Top 5 Worst Philly Sports Moments Of 2014

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Sixers finished with the NBA's second-to-worst record, dropped to third in the lottery, and then started a new season 0-17. The Flyers were eliminated in Game Seven of round 1 of the postseason by the New York Rangers, and continue to exemplify mediocrity.

The Eagles lost to the Saints on a last second field-goal in a home Wild Card playoff game ending their 2013 season. Then, in Chip Kelly's second season, they missed the playoffs despite being 9-3 with four games remaining.

And the Phillies, well, the Phillies are arguably the worst team in baseball.

Nevertheless, we did manage to find five positive 2014 Philadelphia sports moments on Tuesday. Today, more easily, we bring you the five worst moments.

5. Jonathan Papelbon's crotch crab (September 14th)

You can watch the video here.

4. Dan Carcillo scores, Rangers eliminate Flyers (April 30th)

The Flyers were eliminated by the Rangers 2-1 in Game Seven of the First Round of the 2014 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. To make matters worse, former Flyer Dan Carcillo scored the first Rangers' goal. Carcillo was added to the lineup after he sat out the previous two games.

3. DeSean Jackson ends Eagles' season (December 20th)

DeSean Jackson came back and burnt the Eagles in Week 16, catching four balls for 126 yards and essentially eliminating the Eagles from playing in the postseason.

2. Eagles eliminated by Saints in playoffs (January 4th)

Now Eagle then Saint, Darren Sproles, set up the game-winning New Orleans field goal with a 39-yard kick return (plus a Cary Williams 15-yard hoarse collar penalty) and kicker Shayne Graham did the rest, ending the Eagles' season.

1. Opening kickoff against Dallas (December 14th)

Ugh.
