Tony Danza Returns To Northeast High For Talent Show Fundraiser
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Actor - and former teacher - Tony Danza returns to Northeast High tonight, for a fundraiser.
Danza says he appreciates the welcome he got at Northeast High three years ago while taping his reality TV show. Tonight, he'll be back at the school, signing autographs, tap dancing and hosting a teachers-versus students talent show to raise money for the school.
Danza says the timing is right.
"The teachers got a pretty frustrating offer from the district and so the morale there is low. So I just think you go back and you try to send a message that it's important and that you care."
Last year's inaugural show raised about $30,000. Danza matched the money raised last year -- and he says this year businessman Ronald Perelman has agreed to do the same.
The show is 6pm at Northeast High. Tickets are $5 for Northeast High students, $7 for everyone else. Danza will take pictures and sign autographs for a $10 donation.
