KYW's Mike Dougherty spoke with Mann Center president and CEO Catharine Cahill about the upcoming Tony Bennett concert.
Frank Sinatra once called him the best singer in the business.
(Bennett, singing:) "No, no, they can't take that away from me..."
Tony Bennett brings his golden pipes to the Mann Center on Saturday, August 28th.
Cahill says his act is timeless:
"He is considered by many to be the world's most boyish octogenarian. He is truly a vital musical presence in our musical realm."
What was that again?
"The world's most boyish octogenarian. Even though he's in his 80s, he's still as boyish as they possibly can be."
And she says that translates to an unmatched stage presence by a masterful performer:
"It's absolutely a concert not to be missed."
