Tolls Could Double On Burlington-Bristol And Tacony-Palmyra Bridges
By Marcy Norton
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Drivers who use the Burlington-Bristol and Tacony-Palmyra bridges could see tolls double.
The Burlington County Bridge Commission is proposing toll hikes for the first time in 15 years, aimed at raising money for capital improvements on the spans, which were built around 1930.
The commission's website says tolls would go up for all vehicles. The charge for cars, light trucks and motorcycles would jump from $2.00 to $4.00.
EZ Pass customers would see a one-dollar increase, up to $3.00 per crossing.
The commission is planning to hold public hearings on the proposed toll hikes next week.
