Tiger-mania at Aronimink
by KYW's Mike DeNardo
Serious fans of pro golf -- and those who just want to see Tiger Woods -- are converging at Aronimink golf course in Newtown Square, Pa. for the start of the AT&T National tournament on Thursday.
The biggest attraction here at Aronimink? Who do you think?
"Tiger. Everybody's coming out to see Tiger, for sure."
About 30,000 fans a day are expected to pack this storied course -- many, just to watch Tiger Woods. Ed Panco is one of them:
"That's why we're here. To see Tiger. Somebody just said 'look for the biggest crowd, you'll find Tiger.'"
It's a respectful crowd. No talk of 'transgressions' in the gallery:
"You've got to leave all of that personal stuff out of it when you're here. A lot of us don't agree with what he's done, but he's still a great athlete."
Ed is not only a Tiger fan, but also a Ridley Township Commissioner - proud of the attention this tournament is bringing Delaware County.
