Thus Far, Pollen Levels Not As Bad As Last Year

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) - Superstorm Sandy was just one of the rain events that left the area rather damp.
Dr. Maria Lania, director of Allergy and Immunology at Cooper University Hospital, says allergy season is underway and there's already a lot of sneezing and itchy eyes.
"Right now, if I look at the counts for trees and mold spores the tree pollen is high and the mold is low and some of that may be related to the coldness that we have at night so the mold is still not as high as it would be if we had higher temperatures at night," says Lania.
She says that could change when temperatures heat up.
The good news is even though pollen levels are high, they're not as bad as they were this time last year.
