Three-Alarm Fire Rips Through Several Row Homes In Allentown
ALLENTOWN, Pa (CBS) -- Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire in Allentown overnight that spread to eight homes.
The blaze broke out shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday at a three-story residence along the 1100 block of Catasauqua Avenue.
Eight row homes were effected and evacuated as the fire spread across the roofline of those homes.
The level of damage varied from fire damage in some homes to heavy smoke damage inside others.
The American Red Cross is helping at least a dozen residents who were displaced by the blaze.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Fire officials say the blaze was put under control at about 7 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
