Lockdown Lifted At All Bridgeton Public Schools
BRIDGETON, NJ (CBS) -- The Bridgeton Police Department says an investigation is underway after a threat was made to Bridgeton public schools.
Authorities say around 9:49 a.m. Tuesday, a phoned-in threat was made to the Bridgeton Administration Building on Bank Street.
Police say although there are no classes at that building, the school district decided to lockdown all of the schools in the district since it was a blanket threat.
After an investigation, the school district and Bridgeton Police determined there is no imminent threat and lifted the lockdown around 1:40 p.m.
Officials say students were dismissed at their regular time, but all after school activities were canceled.
Police are working to see if they can determine where the call was made.
