Thousands Of Dollars Taken From Popular Center City Restaurant Overnight
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An investigation is underway after a Center City restaurant was robbed of approximately $3,500.
Police say two robbery suspects struck at the Tria Café located in Washington Square on the 1100 block of Spruce Street. They reportedly entered through an open cellar door.
The victim, the night manager, says a hard object was held to his head and they were forced to the floor. The suspects then forced the victim to open the safe and stole about $3,500.
A witness who was taking trash out saw the offenders flee the scene heading north on 12th Street and then east on Manning Street.
One suspect is described as a black male who is about 5'7"-5'9" with thin build and a medium complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt up over his head and a dark bandana over his face with red, gray and black gloves.
The second suspect is described as a light skin male, possibly Hispanic or of mixed races, with short curly hair. He's about 5'5" to 5'8" tall with sideburns and was wearing a black and red windbreaker jacket or possibly a jogging outfit as well as a mask.
