Thousands Lack Power In Delaware Due To Storm
DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Thousands of Delaware residents are without power as an ice storm makes it way through the state.
Delmarva Power, which serves Delaware and parts of Maryland, was reporting on its website that about 3,750 customers were without power as of 9 a.m. Wednesday. About 3,150 of those outages are in New Castle County, and about 390 outages are in Kent County.
The utility estimates many customers won't have service restored until Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, main roadways remain wet but most slippery spots are in neighborhoods.
The Delaware Department of Transportation said the speed limit on the Delaware Memorial Bridge has been reduced to 45 mph due to the poor weather conditions.
