Thousands Attend Advance Screening Of Final Harry Potter Installment
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) -- Over a thousand tickets were given away for the first local advance screening of the final Harry Potter movie. Before the movie started, KYW's Tim Jimenez stood in line, inside and outside, with fans waiting in King of Prussia.
The line stretched all the way outside of the United Artists theater in the middle of one of the hottest days of the heatwave. But that didn't dampen any spirits, especially Maureen from Mantua, New Jersey who brought her family.
"I'm gonna know before everybody else. Even though I did read the books, I'm still gonna know before everybody else what the movie was like. So, I'm very happy."
Inside, in the comforts of the AC, Zack from Center City says the end of the series is the end of a part of his youth.
"I was seven when the first book came out, I'm 20 now so. I don't know, I'm sad to see it go."
Christopher was ready to get to the best part of his very long day.
"I got here, oh, probably 7:15 this morning. This will be the summer blockbuster."
But Christopher doesn't believe he's seen the last of the boy wizard.
"They say it's the end of Harry Potter. I think it's a new beginning."
