Thief Makes Off With Delaware Church's Carnival Proceeds
CLAYMONT, Del. (CBS) – A thief made off with a large amount of cash from a church over the weekend.
Police in Delaware say they are investigating the theft, which occurred at the Holy Rosary Church on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont.
Sometime on Saturday, June 1st, police say the crook stole money earned from the church's carnival on Friday from a safe within the church.
A carnival volunteer who opened the safe late Saturday afternoon said he found a large amount of cash missing.
Troopers found no signs of forced entry into either the church or the safe, and an investigation in ongoing.
