The Philadelphia Antiques Show Kicks Off 53rd Year
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The 53rd annual Philadelphia Antiques Show is taking place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center through Tuesday April 29th.
"That pair of chairs, they are George III, around (the year) 1800," says Enrique Goytizolo from Georgian Manor Antiques in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. He says quality traditional pieces make a difference in home decorating.
"You know if you only have contemporary things, it looks like a doctor's office, it doesn't look like a home," he says.
Nancy Kneeland is chair of the Philadelphia Antiques Show.
"Every single dealer at the show is its own event in a sense," she says. "Talk to the dealers, get engaged, they will teach you and they will charm you. They have so much to share."
Proceeds from the show and special events will help fund the Penn Center for Human Performance at Penn Medicine. For ticket information, go to the Philadelphia Antiques Show website.
