'The Lost Boys' Begins Casting Its Lead Roles

Philadelphia (CW Philly) — Casting has officially begun for The CW's The Lost Boys pilot. Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey will star in a lead role along with Kiele Sanchez, who starred in DirecTV's Kingdom and A&E's The Glades. 

Posey will be playing Michael, one of the two brothers who move to Santa Carla for a fresh start with their mother. Kiele Sanchez has been cast as the mom, Lucy.

Medalion Rahimi (Still Star-Crossed) and Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom) have also landed lead roles in The CW series. Rahimi will portray Stella who's described as "carefree and Californian." According to Deadline, Stella "has an immediate spark with Michael, but she's not single: Her boyfriend is the sexy, dangerous and immortal vampire David, who is sometimes scary and always intense."

Shapiro will be playing Stella's immortal boyfriend, David.

In the 1987 film, Jason Patric portrayed Michael, Dianne Wiest was Lucy, Kiefer Sutherland played David, and Jami Gertz was Star, an earlier adaptation of Stella.

Catherine Hardwicke will direct the pilot. She'll be returning to a familiar genre, as she directed the first Twilight film. Heather Mitchell will executive produce along with Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, Mike Karz,and Bill Bindley.
