The Hottest Toys On Black Friday Shopping Lists
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Santa's helpers are already scouring the stores, looking for those hard-to-find toys this holiday season.
ZhuZhu Pets? They're soooo 2009. So, what will be this year's Cabbage Patch Kid? Skippack-based blogger Ed Crotty of TheToySpy.comsays tech is hot. And, he says two competing toys that have been flying off store shelves, are like tablet computers for kids: the $80 InnoTab and the $100 LeapPad.
"The InnoTab, while it is cheaper, it does have a tilt sensor, so it is responsive as you turn and move it, much like an iPad. However, it does not have what its closest competition, the $100 LeapPad has, which is a camera."
It was Tickle Me Elmo years ago. This year, Crotty says the musical Let's Rock Elmo is hard to find. And call it tech in reverse: Crotty says an Angry Birds board game based on the popular app game is selling out quickly, too.
"They've actually taken it out of the i-device, out of the tablet and smartphone world, and Mattel has made it into a board game. And it's selling like hotcakes. It's extremely difficult to find."
He says dolls you may find in short supply are the Monster High "Abbey Bominable" and the Silly Hair Lalaloopsy. And he says Christmas ornaments featuring Snooki from the Jersey Shore TV show are (for some reason) very hard to get.
